This publication is a passion project born out of the need to find up-to-date information about mobile development. When I started learning iOS development, I began by learning from random YouTube tutorials and online resources. This method of learning is not the absolute worst, but it gets really old fast. As you will need to sign up for numerous websites, you will also need to sort through old tutorials with deprecated code and books that don't appeal to your style of learning. However, one of the worst aspects is trying to determine whether you need to buy what they're selling or if it's just a sleazy influencer trying to sell you something for the sake of capitalism.

What makes this publication different?

Short answer: Our principles!

First, I want to have singular articles for each topic. This means if you use the search bar and type "How to get started with Vapor," you are not going to get a shitstorm of results on how to get started with Vapor in 2025, 2026, 2027... and so on! The idea here is to keep the tutorial articles updated in the same way we maintain software documentation.

Second, having engaging or interactive illustrations that aid the reader in understanding the instructions of the particular article or section. While I'm not against using AI to aid in article writing or image rendering, I'm definitely against having AI Slop in the articles. I want our readers to have the confidence in knowing that a human being took the time to write and review our articles. This principle is likely one of the most challenging ones to execute at the beginning, as we are bootstrapping the publication, and I definitely need to refine my illustration skills. As we grow, our goal is to hire full-time illustrators to work on our articles and other projects.

Third, the Barney method or breaking it down Barney style. This is military jargon that breaks down concepts and ideas to their core. Once you have the core, break it down to its atoms. The idea here is that you have articles and tutorials that anyone can pick up and understand, gaining value from them without prior knowledge of the topic at hand.

Fourth, becoming a hub for mobile development. I want the page and the publication to become a one-stop shop for mobile development, catering to mobile developers. The idea is to become a source of truth and highlight the consensus of opinion from the mobile development community. In the future, it could be a platform where service providers and product manufacturers can come to see the adjustments they need to make to enhance their offerings.

Fifth, once the publication reaches a point where it has enough paid subscribers, I want to be able to hire full-time writers, illustrators, and other staff members at the most competitive compensation possible. Having well-compensated team members and partners is key to producing outstanding work.

If you made it this far, thank you for sticking with us until the end. As the publication grows, I plan to add more principles to the list that improve our content based on your feedback. Please note that I may not have any articles published at the moment, but I will be adding them shortly. Sign up for free or as a supporter to help us grow faster and provide the best content possible. Additionally, since the publication is still in its early stages, we are seeking article illustrators and writers. We may not be able to pay the most, but we will try our best. Please send your inquiry HERE at this time.
